Rejoice

I am officially an art major. Officially. I have been accepted into the Visual Arts Department to study Art Education! Commence creation, and let the art production begin.
The hat asks, "Is there life after high school?"
And the answer is most definitely.

ประเทศไทยมันถูก or Pratheṣ̄thịy mạn t̄hūk (Thailand it is!)

I have chosen Thailand! I will be volunteering with HELP International in Chiang Rai from mid-July to the end of August 2011. I am so lucky, and SO incredibly excited!

Hare Krishna Lotus Temple

Recently I went to an Indian Temple, in Spanish Fork, UT, of all places! It was in the middle of nowhere and extremely beautiful. I want to go back, and hopefully next time it won't be raining.

the life of a not-so-starving artist

Soon I will be applying to get into the visual arts dept for my major (art ed) and I need to get my portfolio ready...a little anxious seeing as I don't have as many pieces ready as I would like. But hopefully it will turn out great :) here of some of my favorite pieces:

this was an abstract where i used tempra paint, and then outlined and went in and put detail with graphite pencil.

this one is charcoal expression, inspired by a brazilian contemporary dance video. it was one of my final pieces for summer.

this is a charcoal drawing of a bust with a turban.

for my portfolio, i plan on adding some photography too, as well as some other pieces not featured here.

:)

Europe Anyone?

I have submitted my long awaited application to the Art History Study Abroad in Europe for spring! It goes to Italy, France, and England. All I have to do now is wait!

let's shoot. vignettes that is.

I recently purchased a Mini Diana 35mm Camera (minus the flash) from ebay! I first saw it on Urban Outfitters but wanted a better deal, and plus this order came with 5 rolls of film already. Hopefully I get it in the mail soon so I can start shooting and developing amazing vignettes for fun and for this blog :)

My Life is Like a Bad Game of Tetris

I wish things in my life would finally fall into place, but lately it seems as if nothing at all is connecting the way it should. When will I get the high score for once?
